Blepharoplasty/ Eyelid Surgery is a surgical procedure that repairs droopy eyelids by removing excess skin, muscle, and fat. Procedure:

Pre operative assessment is done by the surgeon, to find out what tissue is in excess, skin, muscle or fat. Essential markings are done, including the incision line. Photographs are taken.
The surgical procedure lasts around 2-3 hours.
The tissues are carefully dissected and excess removed, taking care not to over excise or under excise.
 
Side effects:
Bruising, inability to close eyes completely, dryness of eyes. Rarely bleeding, infection, hematoma, blurry vision, muscle damage, itchiness around eyes, visible scars. 
 
Recovery
Blepharoplasty/ Eyelid surgery is a day care surgery, after a few hours of observation, patients can go home the same day. There will be plasters undereye region in case of Lower Eyelid Blepharoplasty, to prevent swelling. Patients are advised to use ice packs for 3-4 days. The sutures are removed on the 6th day. The bruising disappears by 2-3 weeks and swelling too.
 
Results:
This eyelid surgery takes takes atleast two weeks to appreciate result.
