Breast Lift Surgery Bangalore, India
Breast uplift, also known as “mastopexy”, is a cosmetic surgical procedure that can lift and reshape your breasts. In order to achieve the desired results, a breast enlargement or reduction may be required at the same time. This can also help with breast fullness and projection. Breast Lift surgery can be coupled with breast implants (breast lift and augmentation) or breast reduction and lift.
It is best suited for women whose breasts droop or lose fullness as a result of weight loss, breast feeding or aging.
Breast lift can be obtained by three different techniques. Concentric/ peri areolar mastopexy in mild cases, Vertical scar technique in moderate cases and Inverted T scar technique in severe sagging.
Procedure
Breast lifts are typically done under general anaesthesia. Pre operative assessment and essential markings are done, including the incision line. Photographs are taken. The procedure usually takes 1-3 hours to complete.
The vertical or anchor-shaped incision will be made by the surgeon, following the natural contour of the breast. The excess skin is then removed, and your nipple and areola are raised. The skin around the areola is then drawn together and brought down to reshape the breast. Stitches are placed around the areola and nipple area, in a vertical line beneath the nipple and additionally along the lower crease of the breast in anchor shaped technique. Another technique, particularly for those with small breasts and minimal sagging, is the doughnut or concentric mastopexy, which involves making circular incisions around the areola and removing a doughnut-shaped area of skin or areola. Then the normal skin is sutured to the areole edge. Dressings along the sutured site and adhesive bandages to support the breast.
