Procedure:

Post procedure, a pressure garment is applied to chest.

Side effects:
Swelling, bruising, seroma, hematoma, nipple superficial necrosis, loss of nipple pigmentation, asymmetry, recurrence .
 
Recovery:
The recovery time following gynecomastia is relatively short, typically, around 2 weeks.
  • You may experience pain, a burning sensation, bruising, swelling and numbness around the operated site while healing. This is common.
  • You may need to take a few days off work to rest depending on the extent of your procedure.
  • It may be best to avoid driving for 10 to 14 days after surgery to reduce upper arm movements.
  • Sutures are removed one week after surgery.
  • You will wear the chest compression/ pressure garment for at least one to two months. This helps reduce swelling, bleeding and gives a good shape to the chest.
  • Heavy lifting, strenuous exercise, swimming, and strenuous sports should be avoided until advised.
 
Results:
Patients find this to be one of the most satisfying procedures, but it is important to note that results vary from patient to patient. The results of gynecomastia surgery are immediately visible. Post-surgical swelling and incision lines will fade with time. As you recover from surgery, your satisfaction with your new image should grow.
